All the functionality of the SampleScan Mini, the SampleScan Mini Automated includes an integrated 1D reader for rack barcodes.
SampleScan Mini is a “small footprint / high speed” barcode reader for 2D marked sample tubes stored in tube racks. The SampleScan Mini scans a tube rack and rack barcode, outputting the data file within 4-6 seconds. The scanner’s adjustable output file includes: 2D tube barcode, tube position, and rack ID data. The SampleScan Mini works with a range of 2D microtubes and 2D cryotubes offered by variety of labware vendors.
Supported tube rack formats include the popular 96 tube racks, and also the 48, 24, 12, or other capacity tube racks. The 384 tube rack format for is supported for specific 2D labware. New template scanning allows for use with high-density tube racks with offset rows and columns.
The SampleScan Mini software provides an on-screen display of barcode image with scan status color code for quick confirmation of the scanning process. On-screen barcodes also display in enlarged view allowing barcode and code quality to quickly evaluate any non-readable barcodes.
Other key features include customizable output file fields, and single tube scan. To quickly evaluate any non-readable barcodes, clicking on any of the on-screen barcodes displays an expanded view of the barcode and code characteristics.
The 2D sample tubes feature a 2D barcode marked at the bottom of the tube. The 2D barcode is square grid pattern optimized for small areas. The 2D code provides the tube with a unique ID number that facilitates sample tracking tasks. All of BioMicroLab tube rack scanners read the 2D codes for entire rack of tubes and generate an output file of the barcode data. The SampleScan Mini scanner technology allows reporting the 2D code, tube location and rack ID to LIMS systems.
The SampleScan Mini Automated includes BioMicroLab’s SampleScan 2D software. This easy to use Window’s application provides point and click control of the scanner. It provides an on-screen display of the barcode image with colorful visual scan status for quick confirmation of the scanning process. Barcodes are also displayed on the screen so the user can quickly evaluate any non-readable barcodes.
SDK and ActiveX Software Developer’s Toolkits are also included for integration of the scanner with robotic and LIMS systems.
